Silica sand for Foundry Casting

 

Due to silica sand’s property of resistance to high temperature, it is used in foundries also known as metal casting units. It is used to prepare castings which involve titanium, metal castings and steel. The casting surfaces are also cleaned using silica sand.

Metal Casting: Industrial sand is an essential part of the ferrous and non-ferrous foundry industry. Metal parts ranging from engine blocks to sink faucets are cast in a sand and clay mold to produce the external shape, and a resin bonded core that creates the desired internal shape. Silica’s high fusion point (1760°C) and low rate of thermal expansion produce stable cores and molds compatible with all pouring temperatures and alloy systems. Its chemical purity also helps prevent interaction with catalysts or curing rate of chemical binders. Following the casting process, core sand can be thermally or mechanically recycled to produce new cores or molds.

Crystalline silica has a higher melting point than iron, copper and aluminum. This enables castings to be produced by pouring molten metal into moulds made out of silica sand and a binder. Castings form the basis of the engineering and manufacturing industries. Quartz and silica flours are the main components in investment casting (also called precision casting) for the production of specialist products such as jewellery, dental bridges, aviation turbines and golf clubs.

3-Vessel of 5000-25000 M tons Max can enter the port draft.

4-For orders of 1000 tons or less can be packed in big bags of 1250kg- 1375kg -1500kg.

5- Containers of 20 feet can be stuffed with 25- 27.5 tons
